Our journey started not with a plan to create a business, but with a single cat who changed everything. One small, sassy, affectionate little Munchkin kitten who immediately stole our hearts. That first connection opened a door to an entirely new world for us, one filled with tiny paws, late-night bottle feeding, joyous playtimes, and the deeply satisfying feeling of placing healthy, socialized kittens into loving homes. It wasn't long before we knew that this was more than a hobby. It was a calling.
Calicatsu Munchkin Cattery was born out of a deep love and respect for the Munchkin breed. We are not a commercial facility, nor do we operate on volume. Instead, we are a small, home-based cattery where each kitten is cherished, raised by hand, and treated like family. Every decision we make, from breeding pair selection to socialization protocols, revolves around one simple idea: doing right by our cats.
We believe in ethical, responsible breeding. This means we never breed just for color or aesthetics. Every Munchkin that becomes part of our program is thoroughly screened for health and temperament. We perform genetic testing to rule out inherited diseases, and we work closely with our veterinarians to ensure every cat and kitten receives the best possible care. Our breeding cats are not only healthy and beautiful, but they're also well-adjusted, affectionate companions who love human interaction.
Socialization is a cornerstone of our cattery. From the moment they open their eyes, our kittens are exposed to the sounds, smells, and activities of a busy, loving household. They’re handled gently every day, played with by adults and children alike, and introduced to safe experiences that build their confidence and character. By the time they go to their forever homes, they are ready to bond deeply with their new families and adjust quickly to their new surroundings.
